Charity Walk
Only Walk in Hawaii Where You Can Gain Weight
The annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, founded in 1978, is Hawaii’s largest single-day fundraising event by a non-profit organization. Since its inception, more than $32 million has been raised to support hundreds of local charities throughout the state. The Charity Walk is traditionally held every May on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. The monies raised on that island/county stay on that island/county.

Citizen-Scholar Awards
The Hawai'i Lodging & Tourism Association partners with the Hawai'i State Department of Education, and the Honolulu Star-Advertiser to award a scholarship to one senior from every DOE public high school who exemplifies values of a “citizen-scholar” at a recognition luncheon.

Na Po’e Pa’ahana Awards
“The Hard Working People”

Each year, the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association honors the individuals who have contributed to the visitor industry through their exceptional service, professionalism, and aloha spirit. These are the employees who have continued to make Hawaii a premier destination. Our visitor industry needs and appreciates their energy, expertise, intuition, and most of all – their aloha spirit!
