WHAT

HONOLULU, HI – The HLTA is proud to announce the 47th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk schedule for Oʻahu, Kauai, Maui, and Hawaiʻi Island. As Hawaiʻi’s largest and most beloved fundraising events, the Charity Walk brings together thousands of walkers across the islands to support local nonprofits that provide a lifeline for the community. Established in 1978, the Charity Walk has raised over $51 million to date.

The 2026 Visitor Industry Charity Walk schedule and locations are as follows:

Saturday, May 2, 2026
Oʻahu: Magic Island at Ala Moana Regional Park
Kauaʻi: Vidinha Stadium in Līhu‘e

Saturday, May 9, 2026

Maui: War Memorial Special Events Arena in Wailuku
Hawaiʻi Island: Waikoloa Beach Resort and Hilo

HLTA continues its partnership with AccesSurf Hawai‘i to feature the Laulima Loop. Named after the Hawaiian concept of laulima, or “many hands working together,” this specialized route ensures that the Charity Walk is accessible to every member of our community.

This ADA-friendly, 1-km path features a flat, paved course through Ala Moana Regional Park designed to accommodate kūpuna, individuals with disabilities, and those seeking a lighter walking experience. By partnering with AccesSurf Hawaiʻi —experts in adaptive beach and water access—HLTA ensures that mobility is never a barrier to participation. Walkers on the Laulima Loop will enjoy a supportive environment with full access to the event’s signature food and entertainment.

Expanding on the spirit of laulima, this year’s loop features a diverse collective of community partners dedicated to making a difference. Participants can look forward to engaging with local organizations, including Aloha Diaper Bank, United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaiʻi, Kindred Connection, Rehab Hospital of the Pacific and Nā Kama Kai, all coming together to celebrate the power of community and connection.

“We are so excited to be returning as a partner with HLTA for the second year. The purpose of the charity walk aligns with our mission at AccesSurf Hawaiʻi—breaking down barriers and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, has the opportunity to be part of our community’s most cherished traditions,” said Zoë Lewis, Executive Director of AccesSurf Hawaiʻi.

Get ready to fuel your stride with an incredible lineup of 21 engaging checkpoints along the path! This year’s journey is packed with island hospitality and unique surprises, from refreshing Moana Surfrider acai bowls to a much-needed "cool down fan" station hosted by the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra & Roberts Hawaii.

Beyond the snacks, the excitement continues throughout Waikīkī with one-of-a-kind stops hosted by our amazing partners. You’ll be treated to memorable activities from Hawaiian Airlines, The Kāhala Hotel & Resort, and the Polynesian Cultural Center (alongside Courtyard Marriott Oʻahu North Shore).

The fun doesn't stop there—discover even more unique experiences from Marriott Vacation Club (Waikīkī & Ko Olina Beach Club), The Laylow Waikiki, International Market Place, Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts, Royal Hawaiian Center, OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group, Imperial Hawaii Resort, Halekulani & Halepuna, Hilton Grand Vacations, Prince Waikiki, Enterprise Mobility, and Aqua-Aston Hospitality. There is truly something special waiting for you at every turn!

On-Route Experiences & Entertainment

Beyond the walk itself, participants can look forward to a vibrant lineup of interactive experiences and entertainment along the 4.5-mile route. Community partners will be activating fun, engaging stops designed to keep energy high and spirits lifted throughout the journey.

Enjoy friendly games like cornhole and a plinko-style challenge hosted by Kindred Connection, or test your luck with carnival-style games from Aloha Diaper Bank. Walkers can also cool off and recharge at a “cool zone” water mist walkthrough station, complete with a live DJ and emcee hosted by Prince Waikīkī.

These interactive stops add an extra layer of excitement to the event, creating a festive, family-friendly atmosphere that celebrates community, connection, and giving back at every step.

“We are honored to continue the tradition of ensuring that 100% of the funds raised stay in Hawaiʻi, directly benefiting organizations that serve the state's families, keiki (children), kūpuna (senior citizens), and those most in need. Year in and year out, we have seen the difference the charity funds have made in our community, stated Mufi Hannemann, President and CEO of HLTA.

Here is a sneak peak for some of the delicious snacks and experiences walkers can eat and drink along the 4.5 mile route: Wolfgang Puck bacon, coconut acai bowls, Kalua pork sliders, poi mochi donuts, spam musubis, Il Gelato, scones and more.

There is still time to register for individuals, corporate teams, and nonprofit groups. The suggested minimum donation is $50 for adults and $25 for youth (under 18). Walkers are encouraged to register by Monday, April 27, 2026; however, walk-up registration is also available on the morning of the event.
