Travel and Tourism Round-table Meeting with U.S Senator Brian Schatz

HLTA and the U.S. Travel Association hosted a round-table meeting with U.S. Senator Brian Schatz on June 2 at The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club. After introductory remarks by HLTA President Mufi Hannemann , Senator Schatz , who co- chairs the Senate Tourism Caucus , spoke about matters related to travel and tourism, including the Visa Waiver Program and airport management and infrastructure. He also touched on other issues ranging from business and environmental climate change to Airbnb. Members had a chance to ask questions and gain valuable insight in the intimate setting, and enjoyed delicious pupus provided by Mahina & Suns, the Surfjack's acclaimed restaurant headed by Ed Kenney of Town, Kaimuki Superette, and Mud Hen Water.
